About the project
Send The Rain is a drama about artist and homesteader, Alice who struggles with the choices she must make in the wake of the BC wildfires that destroyed her family home.
Hayley Gray
Hayley is a Vancouver-based writer and director. Living, working and creating on Unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh land. She started her career as a production manager and producer and has now written and directed narratives, documentaries and music videos. Her feature script 36 Questions was short listed for The Harold Greenberg Fund and her feature script Blue Sky made it to the Bell Media “It List” as part of the Canadian Film Festival. Hayley premiered a Telus funded documentary: Hayashi Studio which explores the diverse history of British Columbia through the lens of a Japanese photographer at the turn of the century. She recently debuted her feature Unarchived with the NFB at VIFF. In 2022, her short film Send the Rain was selected in the CBC Short Film Face Off as well as the Reykjavik Film Festival, where she participated in the directing lab.
